Available Community Plugin Libraries

CPL is among the most complete libraries as it dynamically derives the latest plugins from many third party sources.

Shouldn’t this be part of https://links.tiddlywiki.org/ wiki?

I think we are already too fragmented. We have,

  1. https://links.tiddlywiki.org/
  2. TiddlyWiki toolmap - Dynalist
  3. Some links in the official documentation
  4. Links to some plugins scattered around in this forum

It would be better if we have a “single source of truth” list.

Good comment IMO.

But, the remit of “Plugin Libraries” is special in that they are “live” in the TW with very low overhead to directly access great resources.

In short, they are a “special case”. One that can assist end-users well directly from the Plugins UI.

You comment about “fragmentation”; and you are correct.

So what is the issue? I suspect it is as simple as — no one knows what Plugin Libraries are really available.

IF we did then a “single source of truth” list might get closer!

Happy Sunday,

Right.

And it’s scale is testament that the mechanism of Plugin Libraries is a very good, robust, lightweight, one!

TT

It is already, but somewhat buried under a Plugin Library tag.

Though I do think that https://links.tiddlywiki.org might want, eventually, to have a separate section just for the Plugin Libraries?

Just a thought, TT

What you highlight in this excellent thread is that, practically, we really need a central …

  • Library of Plugin Libraries

Maybe this will be it???

I do think the “Plugin Library” method of installing add-ons makes a lot of sense. It is lightweight, understands “update”, is user friendly, is robust.

Nuff said,
TT

@Mohammad, the library links are lightweight. It could be useful to give one download that will install them all at once?

Just a comment

I just uploaded each plugin library in its own tiddler, let user download the one the like.

I was thinking the same thing. But then figured that maybe the request in the OP would simplify to collect things for the very links project.

…and, hopefully, a plugin library can eventually be implemented that fetches from/via the very links project!

Right. One place / project that can install all Plugin Libraries?

Yes?

Right, that is what I hope for; i.e that you in your own TW (e.g via “Get more plugins”) can access everything instead of having to surf away to some other site. Perhaps similar to an app store.

We may think of this as an almost revolutionizing improvement - but newcomers will say "Um, you mean this was not in place for the last decade?"

Exactly that! The Plugin Library method is v. lightweight. No problem adding dozens.

Plugins themselves can be composed of tiddlers that are plugin libraries (I think, guess I should try this). So if each plugin library included a plugin that referenced other libraries, a person starting from just one library might eventually discover all the other libraries, including ones that don’t make it to this list.

Yay - a super library! Should the plugin be titled MOAL or Alexandria? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Folks,

Arriving late to this conversation, existing as I do in the Australian time zone, with a fresh mind after a good nights sleep, I gave this topic a quick scan.

As a result I created plugins.tiddlyhost.com as “libraries” was not available. This is a hub listed public wiki where I intend to develop some plugin resources including collected plugin library resources. This will be about plugins and libraries rather than the plugins themselves.

I will soon start an appropriate discussion for people to discuss and contribute to plugins.tiddlyhost.com but we can use this one for now as it is On topic, for now.

I have a range of ideas to make this a useful and informative site. Feel free to make suggestions.

Please add this (http://plugins.tiddlyhost.com/) also to links.tiddlywiki.org

Bingo! Nice one! A snap to use. I’ll comment more later.

Meanwhile … some other plugin libraries to add (also for @Mohammad to note) …
