Are there any technical issues with running a TW in an empty frame window, ie. a window with none of the normal browser controls, status bars, etc?
I envisage the TW display to be invoked from a link on a normal web site page but want to have none of the browser controls on the new window to confuse people (eg. the browser back button)
I can get it to work but before committing to it, would like feedback as to any technical issues.

I’ve never had a problem running TW frameless on desktop or android.
Thank you @well-noted
I have noticed though that under iOS, the empty frame is displayed as a new for Firefox, duck duck go, Safari and chrome

I don’t use iOS. All I know is that on ChromeOS/Android/Windows10 … this kind of behaviour can often be changed in Browser Settings?
Just wondering if that is so on iOS?

I regularly work with any of my TW instances in full screen mode.
That is the same as having TW in an empty frame.
The only time I need to get out of full screen mode: when I want to use the browser’s “find” function to search all visible content for something.
I looked at that as well and there seems to be no settings resolution for this.

i made a separate thread which may be related, though it launches from a file and not a web link.
hi all,
this was going to be a response to https://talk.tiddlywiki.org/t/tw-window-in-an-empty-frame/11675 , but as it may not be directly related i decided to spin it off into its own thread.
chrome can run links in a “web app” mode, which hides the address bar etc and just leaves the system navigation bar (to close / maximize the window). this is how i used to run my daily driver wiki.
this can’t be done from a link to my knowledge, but can be made from a chrome shortcut in windows:

@Scribs ,
opening frameless in Chrome from a link works for me on OSX but not iOS
