Voted… but yes, that site feels slimy.
OK, voted.
Next time, if possible, don’t choose the hour “12” because in spite of “AM” it causes confusion; some time-conversion sites don’t have “12 AM” but call it “00 AM”. And I suspect this is also why a google search for 12:01 AM PDT in stockholm gives the answer “21:01 Thursday, in Stockholm” (which is in about 9 hours from now).
Hm, the site only allowed me to sign in via existing accounts (google, X, fb etc). I selected google. No spam or anything thus far at least. But it is possible to disable the google-producthunt connection using a google setting.
Regardless of the above and regardless of outcome; Thank you Jeremy for the initiative!
The launch time is fixed, with all that days launches going live at the same time. As @pmario points out, it is essentially a daily competition.
The current state of play is that we are still at #55, and the graph of our launch points (whatever they might be) looks like this:

Let’s all rally together, TW community—please upvote and help promote this!
This is one of those moments where supporting TiddlyWiki truly matters.
Thank you!
Upvoted and commented, TiddlyWiki has been so valuable to me I’m happy to have a chance to help back, I’m sure many feel the same.
Strangely when I want to add my review, it tells me you have already reviewed it.
By the way I added this as a comment to Jeremy Review.
Yep: upvoted and left a brief review.
Good luck!
(Agree with @Scott_Sauyet: that is quite an icky-feeling site; now going to see if I have been spammed, as there was one weekly newsletter I couldn’t find a way to unsubscribe to …!)
Upvoted, left a review, and commented on the page. I agree with the others about the weirdness of the site - it forced me onto that AI mailing list that I couldn’t opt out of on sign up and I was not a fan of that. Regardless, I’m happy to show my support for TiddlyWiki, especially if it means it’ll bring in new people to try it.
What is a founder review? I assume there’s only one person who could claim that. Or is it a review of the founder?
As of now 19:26 (current time in Greenwich, England, UK), only 15 people have voted!
I hope more people vote!
It took me an hour to figure out my log-in strategy. Having to sell your soul to make an upvote is a bit of a hard sell, unfortunately. I imagine some people just gave up.
I wonder what products TW is competing against?
It’s kind of weird that it uses the west coast of North America as the start point, especially since it would be midnight there. 12:01 am PDT is one minute after midnight in California.
PDT is GMT-7. Stockholm is GMT+2. So you should be able to add 9 hours to the start time. So it should run from starting at 09:00 Stockholm time.
Currently, there are 12 hours remaining.
Looking at the other products, it’s a deeply eclectic selection. Also, 6 of the top 10 feature “AI” in their descriptions. Including “Grok”, which has been getting media coverage the last few days.
I used Gmail to sign up. Product Hunt only has access to my Gmail address and name.
By the way, I only see 20 votes so far—that seems too few!
Thank you to everyone who was able to help, and appreciation for those leaving reviews. They are worth a read:
We did very respectably, ending up at #46 out of 150 or so. Last time, in 2020, we came in at #2, having been at #1 for much of the day. I think the primary reason for the difference is that in 2020 there was a member of the community who was familiar with that world and could navigate it more expertly.
I don’t know if it’s worth doing this again. It wasn’t much work for me to make the original post but it is a lot to ask of this community to participate in Product Hunt.
Nonetheless, thank you to everyone who helped. I think we need to experiment with more and better ways to reach potential TiddlyWiki users, and so I’m glad we did it.
I expected much more support, but it seems the signup barrier is preventing some people from voting
This process was particularly egregious. First they ask for a sign-up email. Then after you do that two-step, they ask you to sign-up with one of only 5 social media accounts. A lot of us having been working hard to eliminate our activity on social media.
The thing is, you sign up and get 15 minutes of fame, followed by a lifetime of mail not just from Product Hunt, but also from anyone they decide to sell your email to. Having that linked to your primary social media account is a hard ask these days.
Looking at the numbers, it doesn’t appear that even the winners have that many supporters, so I’m not sure this is an effective publicity approach.
Hopefully the reviews that are posted will be picked up by the search bots and eventually incorporated into search results, but it’s all kind of hand-wavey.
Mark, I think that a good analysis of what Product Hunt has become.
TBH @jeremyruston I think it would be worth doing again—but only in a co-ordinated, timed, flood of Product Hunt with positives for TW; understanding what it is now become …
A vector of volume and numerous votes first and analysis of reality later.
Something like that.
I do have an account there for 5 years and did not get any spam mails from them. For me google mail does a pretty good job to filter spam, which I do not get much anyway.
