Search formatted text with standard search

The discussion in Search formatted text made me curious about how standard search handles formatted text. My test results are summarized in the following table.

It turns out that formatted text is not found if it contains all of the three types of formatting tested. Surprisingly, however, such text is found if the ending two formatting characters are added after the first formatted word. See the table.

As this is somewhat unusual, this may not be the correct way for advanced search to handle such text?

I have not tested underline, strikethrough, subscript, etc.

maybe something to do with the location of the comma?

I may not have been clear.
The text of the test tiddler consisted of the text in the first column without the extra formatting characters shown for some entries.
The search text for all cases, plain text in Advanced search - Standard, was the text in the first column, unfortunately shown in the table as it appears in the tiddler, i.e., where applicable with the extra formatting characters.

Interesting observation.

If the comma is present in the text of the tiddler but omitted in the search text, then there is no problem. I.e.,

This is italicized bold and highlighted text.

finds

This is italicized, bold and highlighted text.

while

This is italicized, bold and highlighted text.

does not find

This is italicized, bold and highlighted text.

This behaviour, if intentional (ignoring punctuation?), I find counterintuitive.
