Only Likes now possible?

Has someone turned off the ability to react with a range of symbols making only like  is possible?

hover it for some time and it will show the list

On desktop platforms, the panel of other emojis will show up if you hover on it.

Unfortunatly hover over the heart does not do this for me.

In Application window, On Windows 11, driven by Edge browser (against my wish, I would use chrome or firefox)

Are you saying you’re forced to use that on Win11?

 no, I used firefox to add talk.tiddlywiki as an app window on the desktop.

I am forced to use Edge for app windows generated from a browser. Part of why my spell checker is not working to detect typos etc…

Once I installed Edge it took over the provision of the app window(s), and I don’t know how to turn it back to being handled by Firefox even with Firefox as the default browser.

This is all I get on hover. And click just hearts.

I will, out of my comfort area

Works in firefox

But not Chrome

That’s strange. Hover works for me on Brave with Chromium 140.0.7339.133.

Both edge and Chrome had updates, I applied them but the issue has not gone.

The answer is to create a shortcut that launches FireFox with the nominated URL, not as easy as just c reating from the bowser as I am want to do every month or so :frowning:

It should work on Edge. Hovering works for me on Edge 140.0.3485.54 on Windows 10.

I just retried a second time on Edge Version 140.0.3485.66 (Official build) (64-bit) and now its working  and now working within the application short cut.

Also now Chrome. Seems to have been a problem for a few hours.

Odd, but thanks for your help.

I did test it. If you are not logged in, you only can use the heart symbol. If you are logged in everything should work.

Thanks Mario, Perhaps my occasionally flakey internet connection cause it then?

Just in case it helps any…

On my Chromebook, hover over the heart displays the emojis panel:

If I disconnect from the net and hover over the heart, I get a partial list of icons, and words instead of icons on firefox. So it seems like browsers may cache some but not all of the icons.

I see this sporadically. It’s infrequent enough that I’ve never really tried to figure out the cause. I assumed it was some Discourse state that I never noticed.

I don’t think it’s related to being logged in.

I use Brave, Firefox, and Chrome on Windows, Mac, Ubuntu, and Android. But I’ve never paid attention to whether certain combinations of these are at issue. I will keep an eye out now to see if I can find any regularity to this.

It seems I was “logged in” just not currently connected back to the site, for a moment, then the fault stayed with me although I could now save/edit discourse.
