Yes, sorry for focussing on the wrong thing!
Thanks again for your work on Timimi too: although I currently use Firefox with TiddlyWiki, I imagine Chrome is more widely used, I think in macOS as well as with other operating systems.
Statistically, only 2% of users use Firefox. But in this forum, it seems like it might be more than 50%.
Mohammad are you all right?
Praying.
So, @Mark_S - Have I got this right: the tiddlyspark-0.1.exe is to be used in conjunction with the side-loaded Timimi (addon-chrome.zip from back in March)?
I’m not going to make any changes until my current Timimi installation in Thorium stops functioning, but I’m squirreling away these files now, just in case…
Thank You
Yes. When you side-load the Timimi extension, it creates a new internal ID for the extension. You can not set an arbitrary id, and the id has to match the id used by the “host” (the program that actually saves your file). The tiddlyspark executable installs the new id.
Right. Got it - Thank You so much
Now if someone could just define “side-load” and outline steps to do so. This word is an area where some are assuming too much knowledge of average users.
Ah, knock it off. You’re not an average user
So there was a quick explanation of side-loading. Side-loading in this case means adding an extension without going through the Google extension store. Here’s the pertinent part of the post. Let me know if it’s too terse.
Ah ok, got it. Thanks.
Yes, wondering if it’s something to do with an enthusiasm for open source and tinkering!
