The important header section has been chopped off.

What is going on!!!

“Quoted” or replied to text is stripped often. This is supposed to be to not post replies at the bottom of email.

I have edited that one post of yours here to include reinhard’s quoted items.

Fine control over GG posts sucked into Discourse isn’t going to be possible.

You can adopt Markdown syntax when posting to gg to have some control over different display.

20 posts were split to a new topic: GG Discourse Email Linking Troubles

Right. I understand stripping the bottom as much of the time it’s verbiage.

However, I, on GG, like to quote the relevant bit being replied to at the top.

The essential issue is this: How would a poster to GG know that by the time their post gets to Discourse it may have been stripped of quotes?

Often top quotes matter to meaning!

Best wishes

I am explaining to you that using Markdown is how you have more control over how things display in the imported messages here.

It’s not ideal, and for those users like you that use both, you can be pointed to a FAQ here.
