What is the easiest way to host my TW online?

Hello,

I want to host my TW on the internet so that I can access it from wherever I want.

I have seen people suggest making a page on Github, but I have not seen a clear tutorial on how it is done and how to save.

Can anyone throw some suggestions or information my way? I sincerely appreciate it.

You can try tiddlyhost.com

For Github this is a good guide:

I suppose it all depends on your skill level and what if any hosts or servers you have available. Also do you want it for private use, public reading or team edits?.

  • I use a cpanel apache host I have with tw-receiver
  • Look at tiddlyhost as saq suggests
  • I think PMario has videos on line for github set up, however git hub has its own instructions for set up and all you have to do is upload a single file wiki
  • Private on line wiki If you sign up to https://www.w3schools.com/ you can get a space and host your tiddlywiki there but must login to w3schools
  • more options than these exist…

Thank you for the replies. I am going to try Tiddlyhost.

I have uploaded my TW to TH, but I have no idea how to save new entries. Can someone kindly assist?

Thank you

G’day,

If you have sold your soul to Google like I have, then Google Drive (with TiddlyDrive add-on) is really good.

Do note that my experience is based on accessing/editing my TiddlyWiki instances always from a Chromebook, and sharing with others who also have Google accounts and the TiddlyDrive add-on.

I have no idea how well Google Drive + TiddlyDrive + TiddlyWiki work for smartphones/tablets.

Are you by any chance logged out of TH at the moment? I frequently have to log back in.

Best,
Chris

Nevermind, I am an idiot. I am using 5.1.23 and I did not see the instructions at first.

Thanks again.

This is what you need to do to get Tiddlyhost saves working for 5.1.23 and earlier TiddlyWikis.)

  1. Click on the site to open it in a new tab, then click the gear icon to open the $:/ControlPanel tiddler.
  2. Click the “Saving” tab, then click on the “TiddlySpot Saver” tab.
  3. Fill in something in the first two text fields, “Wiki Name” and “Password”. It doesn’t matter what you put there since the values won’t be used, so just type literally anything in those two fields.Your browser may give warnings about vulnerable passwords if you use something like “abc” in the password field, so it’s better to type something longer and more password-y there.
  4. Click the ‘Save changes’ icon and you should see the usual “Starting to save wiki” and the “Saved wiki” notifications.
