Unmaintained tiddlywiki translations

I’ve noticed that some tiddlywiki translations are out of maintainence (bold ones are those I think is badly in need of an update):

  • ar-PS
  • ca-ES
  • cs-CZ
  • da-DK
  • el-GR
  • fa
  • he-IL
  • hi-IN
  • ia-IA
  • it-IT
  • ja-JP
  • ko-KR
  • nl-NL
  • pa-IN
  • pt-BR
  • pt-PT
  • ru-RU
  • sk-SK
  • sl-SI
  • sv-SE

In fact, the translation of the development documents is not actively maintained because there are too few contributors. It is not very realistic to rely on manual translation. I think it is necessary to use some AI/or automatic translation tools, just like some of Google’s development documents.

I’m now trying to use DeepSeek to translate tiddlywiki (It is surprising that it does understand a little tw wikitext syntax). I’ve added AI translated da-DK here:

https://ai-translation.tiddlyhost.com/

I hope there are users to test it.

Thank you, sure I will test it! How many Danes are using Tiddlywiki? I have only seen 4 in all the time I have used TW myself.

The plugin does not have the language icon = $:/languages/da-DK/icon.
It looks well enough at a first glance - but of course most of it were already translated and has not changed.
Daily use and time will tell. Compliments for your good idea!

Thank you very much.
At a quick glance it looks fine.

Cheers Måns

If people want to contribute in translating the TiddlyWiki application itself, there is an easy interface built into the main website - no need to know how it works internally or to make any pull requests: https://tiddlywiki.com/#Translate%20TiddlyWiki%20into%20your%20language

Language icons have been removed. See discussions at GH.

The translators edition allows us to see all possible texts. Native speakers can modify them and send a single file wiki to GitHub so the language can be updated.

One edition file should only contain one language

Here is the codeberg repository, feel free to report issues in it.

Added two languages, sv-SE and ru-RU.
