I tried to download an ofline copy from https://tiddlywiki.com/upgrade.html with Vivaldi 7.0.3505.7 on MIUI (Android). It got stuck in a loop and ultimately the browser reported a server error. However I ended with three similar ~75KB files named ‘TiddlyWiki Upgrader — upgrade your files to the latest version’ in my Downloads folder. I have uploaded one of them here https://dpaste.org/YNGGA
I can’t reproduce it with Firefox 126.0.1 on same OS. It reports downloading a 6.5MB file (yet the downloaded upgrade.html file is about 21MB big). No feedback about using it yet, I’ll have to proceed carefully.
You are right. I did download it with FireFox on Android. Clicking the link switched to my default browser.
Tried with chrome again and it only downloaded 75kB.
Since I have no idea, how to debug with the phone I can’t help
so far I don’t know if it’s Android specific as well, since I don’t have access to a PC to try Chrome or a Chrome based browser like Vivaldi there
but I found an optional way to download the updater on Android if Firefox is not available. if Termux is installed, wget successfully downloads the full 20MB file (same checksum)
Perhaps the browser can’t save the upgrader correctly, a downloader should be used. Using Aria2App on my Android Phone downloads the html file completely.
