Tiddlytools calendar on mobile?

This is a weird thing about the tiddlytool calendar. On the desktop it works great, but on the mobile device the events of the day only display partially, despite there being plenty of room:

About half the available space is wasted. Actually, if the popup used the full width, the entire description for the entrees would fit.

Thanks!

  • In the Calendar heading click on the settings (gear) icon
  • In the Calendar Settings popup, click on the advanced settings (hammer-and-screwdriver) icon
  • In the untitled advanced settings popup, change the popup_maxw config value from “40vw” to “100%”

I worked out that I needed to upgrade the time tools. Also worked out that I needed to delete existing tools and then re-install.

Adjusted for 100%.

Now the calendar from the icon on each tiddler gives this (only on mobile):

and the calendar in the sidebar gives this

Hopefully I’ve just made a mistake uninstalling/installing. Maybe I’m still using the old config file.

Thanks!

Did you upgrade directly from https://TiddlyTools.com, or did you use the OLD It's About Time! — TiddlyTools: "Small Tools for Big Ideas!" (tm) source? That older source is OBSOLETE and has not been updated since 2022.

I probably messed up with install/uninstall. Possibly messing up with browser storage retaining stuff. Here’s how I think it should go:

  1. Turn off browser storage and reload
  2. Delete all the tiddlers that start with TiddlyTools/Time
  3. Drag in all the tiddlers from TiddlyTools for TW v5.3.8 — Small Tools for Big Ideas!™
  4. Leave the original $:/config/TiddlyTools/Time in place? Or overwrite it?

Also, could there be other leftover configuration tiddlers that need to be erased?

So, it turns out that my favourite phone browser is no longer supported. TiddlyTools/Time must use some CSS that was introduced in the last 3 years.

So I switched to Vivaldi. The icon calendar is no longer broken, and displays nice long descriptions. So that’s good enough. The sidebar calendar however is showing a truncated description, similar to my starting post:

I verified that it looks like this on Chrome as well, so I wouldn’t continue my browser bias.

Anyway, that’s probably good enough. It’s a really nice portable calendar.

Thank you!
