fyi a tiddler is a small fish in English I believe, cat like catching them
That’s an urban myth.
But it is true that “Tiddler” (fish) lingo is somewhat at odds with a kitty logo :-).
I think it happenstance.
If you go to the bottom of Mill Lane, Barrow-Upon-Soar, Leicestershire, UK and dangle your feet in the water around the Old Mill tiddlers will happily nibble your feet.
BUt if a fish is a tiddler, then what is a tiddly?
Crazy how many common letters there are between tiddlywinks and tiddlywiki.
Funny, I actually had the game in the 80’s in the US. Minnows are very small, and so are little circles of plastic. Only, the game has nothing to do with a river unless of course this is like a Jumanji-type situation, and somebody just had to get rid of it.
When I played Tiddlywinks, there was no portal to another dimension, but it is possible that my cat might have been involved in destroying the game.
In British slang, “tiddly” is an adjective that means “small”.
In the Hawaiian language, “wiki” means “quick”.
Thus, “TiddlyWiki” means “small and quick”.

And what is “winks” Hawaiian for? (Maybe winks are the international language of love.)
