Success: Edit TW on iOS device via Good Reader (& Dropbox)

It seemed from what I’d read that this might not work BUT I thought I’d learn something by trying anyway. Success beyond what I’d hoped — I can edit and save.

  1. First I uploaded a single Tiddlywiki file to Dropbox, then added my images folder.

  2. I downloaded Good Reader from the iOS App Store. In the app I clicked on the “plus” icon and connected to my Dropbox account.

  3. Downloaded the file and image folder to the iPad (via Good Reader’s file management).

  4. Open the TW-project.html within Good Reader’s “browser” — and everything looks perfect. I can edit and save tiddlers, so theoretically should be able to upload the updated file back to Dropbox.

Since I hadn’t found this solution elsewhere, I hope this post is useful to others.

that’s great news @Anakowi !

i’ve tried to replicate but i can’t seem to get step 4 to save properly, i am using a single file tiddlywiki

so for example after i edit and save (after opening the file in goodreader by tapping on it, it is saved in the goodreader synced dropbox folder) and try to do the sync process, the file on both my device and on dropbox appears unchanged

i am using an iphone rather than an ipad, on latest ios beta, (other devices not currently with me) maybe that might cause an issue?

Noooo… :frowning:
Although the browser looks like it saved, the file saved in the file manager hasn’t updated.
I wonder IF there’s a way to make that happen?

I’m sorry about that @makiaea
