The stroll plugin seems to have an issue with the tiddlywiki of version 5.2.3. When I click + sign to add a new tiddler, the text field “field value” on the left side of the add button is missing. See the screenshot. Does anyone have an idea of how to solve it? Thank you very much.
Welcome schueani to the forum!
The last I knew, Stroll didn’t have a plugin, so I’m wondering where you got yours? The current Stroll home page uses 5.2.3, and doesn’t exhibit your problem. Do you have any other plugins or tools installed?
Maybe @DaveGifford would have some insight.
Good luck!
I have never seen that happen and can’t reproduce that behavior, either in Stroll prior to 5.2.3 or now that I just updated Stroll to 5.2.3, coincidentally, today.
Very strange behavior to show part of the field editor but not the other part. I can’t imagine where that is coming from.
And Mark is correct, technically Stroll is not a plugin but an adaptation of TW, a collection of plugins and other tiddlers.
Thank you both for the reply. I had this issue about one week ago, when I updated my tiddlywiki to 5.2.3.
The issue can be reproduced in two ways.
One is downloading the empty tiddlywiki from https://tiddlywiki.com/ and adding stroll. Then click the + button. You can have the result as in the following screenshot.
The other is https://giffmex.org/stroll/empty.html. Click the + button. I would like to post more screenshots here. But it is not allowed for a new user.
I have also noticed that clicking + button under ~https://giffmex.org/stroll/stroll.html~ works. But I don’t know why. Sorry as a new user I can’t post more than two links.
I have tried to remove stroll and just add blinks. In this case there is no problem. However I would like to have all parts of stroll.
I hope this additional information would help solve the issue.
Dragging these missing pieces from the Stroll demo into the “empty” Stroll seems to fix it. It kind of appears that somehow a core template was omitted from the empty, since there was no error message about overwriting a core portion.
If you try this, be sure to have backups of anything important.
$:/core/ui/EditTemplate
$:/core/ui/EditTemplate/fields
$:/core/ui/EditTemplate/tags
$:/core/ui/EditTemplate/title
$:/core/ui/EditTemplate/type
Thank you Mark_S. I have tested your solution. It works like a charm!
I just updated the empty file for Stroll with the tiddlers you listed, taken from the Stroll demo site. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.
