Sliding overflow (html) table with rotated header and fixed left column

Here is the example: Revelation, elements by passage (giffmex)

Edit: I updated Documenting TW with three new entries explaining how I did it:

Avoiding spillover of extra wide content in tiddlers
HTML table with diagonal (rotated) headers
HTML table with fixed first column

@DaveGifford Nice. I have been investigating something like this but where I can fix the first n number columns. Example: I want the first three columns to remain in view while the others scroll. Have you had any success with this? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing! I’d love to see the basic css for this. The more examples to reverse-engineer, the better! (I’ve fantasized about using those diagonal column headers, but haven’t wanted to put in the time and troubleshooting.)

Hi @clsturgeon and @Springer! I updated Documenting TW with three new entries,

Avoiding spillover of extra wide content in tiddlers
HTML table with diagonal (rotated) headers
HTML table with fixed first column

@clsturgeon I wouldn’t know about fixing multiple columns, but a Google search for “fixed multiple columns in html table” turned up a few hits that look promising.

@DaveGifford … Nice. I did move this info to the Tips&Tricks category. It would be nice if you would add the “updated Documentation” links to the OP too. So users will see them immediately.

Thanks for the good advice, Mario. I just updated the OP.
