@telmiger I have had this issue forever. Thinking it was my css, I failed to resolved it.
The search icon button on the sidebar appears to have extra white space to its right than other buttons.
To replicate I dragged in the latest plug-in into the latest TW and then moved the icon so it was not the last icon in the bar.
Not sure this image shows it well enough but please review. Thank you.

I am able to replicate and confirm the issue, but I canʼt see the reason causing it at the moment.
I will take another look when I find time.

@telmiger Thank you. I too was unable to locate the root cause. It seemed rather odd to find this minor gap in the buttons with no clues in the CSS to why. I too will continue to research.

I think I found a solution.
Try adding \whitespace trim as the first line of $:/plugins/telmiger/simple-search/ui/Buttons/search.

I found it is specifically the new line character at the end of the tiddler. Removing the last line also corrects the issue.
