How do you transfer your TW between devices? Use cloud?

Another way is to send the files using Bluetooth. Takes a while, but it saves wear and tear on your USB connections.

Those with a Linux/Unix computer can use the qrcp program from the terminal. In short, it generates a QR-code in the terminal window. When you scan this with your phone, it connects to a small one-off server on the computer, which then starts sending or receiving files. The phone and computer have to be on the same Wifi network.

I maintain my TWs on my computer and frequently use qrcp to put one on my phone for viewing and searching.

You can find qrcp here: GitHub - claudiodangelis/qrcp: ⚡ Transfer files over wifi from your computer to your mobile device by scanning a QR code without leaving the terminal.

if Syncthing is running on both devices, it just autosyncs changes with zero human intervention. in very rare cases there are a few sync errors of particular files, but old versions are kept so the risk of data loss is minimal

unison (under linux, no idea if it’s on other platforms) is a tool I’ve used to sync files between computers, ensuring the newest is sync’d across to the oldest.

I dont use it for TW (I use node), but it would be one of the tools I’d look at if I shifted to that mode of usage.

I second the earlier suggestion of Syncthing, if you know you always want the file on both devices.

In practice though for one-off files I much prefer the simplicity of KDE Connect. Despite its name it’s not strongly tied to the KDE desktop or even Linux as a platform, it runs on Windows just fine for instance. It is basically an open-source clone of the commercial Pushbullet.

The program lets you send files to other devices on your network after pairing, at which point they will be permanently connected. As it goes over WiFi, it is much faster than Bluetooth. Note though that you won’t be able to send a full folder.
