Request: List-search that changes based on clicking a tag

Hi everyone

I use list searches (tb5 — Welcome) a lot, but they tend to multiply. I got an idea in my head this morning of a two column sidebar tab. One column is a filterable list of tags. When you click on a tag, the other column shows a list search of the tiddlers tagged with that tag. That way the list would stay open and be filterable, which is two times preferable to clicking a tag pill and getting a popup window that is not filterable and disappears the moment you click on anything else.

But I have no idea how to go about this. Anyone want to point the way for me?

Thanks Saq for the category change. Sorry I didn’t catch that description!

i hope i understood your request clearly! here’s something quick tags and list-search.json (637 Bytes)

Oh dear, I didn’t read the “filterable list of tags” part. So… both columns are list-searches?

Hi sull-vitsy, I am in meetings all day. Looks good so far. Thank you!!! But yes, a filterable list of the tags would be preferable if possible. I think I might be able to figure it out from here, adding your button as the list item template for the tag list-search.

I think I got it during a break. Will send a link tonight. Thank you for your help, s-v!

Hi there, sull-vitsy and others,

Here is a link to a file that incorporates the solution to my query. A big thanks to sull-vitsy for the part of the solution I couldn’t figure out. — RoamStreams

See the Topics sidebar tab. Filter the left column, then click a tag in order to see the tiddlers so tagged in the right hand column. No way to go back to zero. The right hand column will always display the tiddlers associted to the last tag you clicked.

The other tiddlers involved are $:/.giffmex/Tags list-search, and $:/.giffmex/LIT/Sullvistyfortags (sorry for the misspelling).
