Remembering Ton Gerner

In very sad news, Ton Gerner’s widow Ira has let me know that he passed away earlier this month. Her message in part reads:

Ton asked me to let you know that he really enjoyed the video sessions,
especially from version 0.x to version 5.

Ton will be much missed. He first posted in 2009, and was a loyal and enthusiastic member of the community for many years.

I got to know Ton through the many TiddlyWiki Hangouts where he was a lively participant - there is an example here.

Ton also created and maintained the Dutch translation. Contributors to translations are a vital component in our mission to serve as many people as possible, regardless of where they live.

Please join me in expressing condolences to Ira. I have shared the link so she will see this message and any replies.

I am so sorry for your loss, Ira.
Ton Gerner created so many guides on Tiddlyspot. Constantly updated and upgraded for a very long time. The guides were very helpful. I learned so much from them getting over lots of hurdles in the learning curve - I think many of us did. Knowing how time consuming Tiddlywiki can end up being (due to addiction) - we owe you lots of thanks too.

Although we only knew each other through our shared love of TW, your husband’s kindness and contributions meant a great deal to us in the community. He will be remembered warmly, and my thoughts are with you and your family.
