I want to share some personal health news because it may have an impact on my work.
I have been diagnosed with epilepsy. I had two seizures close together at the beginning of December that took me to hospital for a few days, and then another last Friday. In the UK, a second seizure is the threshold for a diagnosis, and I have been prescribed anti-seizure medication in an increasing dose until the seizures stop. Right now my main problem is that I injured myself during the most recent seizure and I think it’s still going to take a few days to recover.
I am lucky to have a family who can take care of me, and a very good local hospital. I hope to be back on my feet very soon. In the meantime, thank you for your patience with all the messages, issues and PRs.
I’m glad you have support and good care, Jeremy. Having some experience with a family member who developed epilepsy, I expect that once your docs get the anti-seizure drugs at the right level you’ll have an easier time of things.
Very sorry to hear that Jeremy. So glad that you have good hospital, effective medicine and your family to help you through.
Please do not rush into things. Take it easy and find a plan for how to go forward. Regular life, enough sleep and no stress is important!
Wish you all the best
