Help…
If this is not the right place to post my problem, please move
to the right location!
My Timimi saves don't work and I am unable to figure out why!
If you could look over my steps and check what I am doing wrong
I would be very grateful!
- Went to:https://tiddlywiki.com/
- Went to Quick start
- Clicked on Desktop Download
- Went to GettingStarted
Clicked on Download and Downloaded
the empty.html file, to my Download
directory.
- Went down page to select Linux and firefox.
- Slected badge for method for Timimi
which took me to:
- Timimi: WebExtension and Native Host by Riz
- I selected "Linux" which opened to Linux
and "Timimi:WebExtension anbd NBative Host by Riz
- I went to firefox Add-ons and installed Timimi
- I open Timimi settings, set the Backup location as:
~/home/tiddlywiki.timimi (directory.)
- Set Backup method to Tower of Hanoi
- Then I moved ""empty.html"" into the ~/home/tiddlywiki.timimi
(directory.)
- Next I clicked on empty.html and the firefox browser opened
with Tiddlywiki an GettingStartedd page ready for use.
- I clicked on the "+" for a new page.
- Named the page "Number One" and then saved that page by clicking
on red button to save and received "Wiki saved" at "top right screen", at the same time Timimi stated that save "Failed no, Error:No such Native application Timimi".
I checked the directory:~/home/tiddlywiki.timimi (directory.) For
anything from the two saved pages, and nothing?
Thanks in advance for taking a look!
I’m afraid I’m not familiar with Linux, but I’ve renamed the thread to attract more attention from those who will be able to help. Good luck!
Thank you for your time!
If this will help any
~/home/tiddlywiki.timimi
is equal to
C:\home\tiddlywiki.timimi
in Microsoft.
I don’t see that you did anything at this step. You were supposed to click on
https://ibnishak.github.io/Timimi/
and then follow yet more links until you got to:
https://github.com/ibnishak/Timimi/releases
From there you can download and run the installer for Linux. Be aware that this might not work if your firefox is installed with Snap – I don’t know where Riz left off with this.
Yes, looking at all this, it’s not an easy needle to thread.
Good luck!

Hey thanks, I’ll check this out, that could be my mess up!
Thank you
Timimi requires the instalation within a browser “an addon” and a host component. because one talks to the other. Sadly no longer compatible with Chrome/Chromium without mods.
