Missing tiddler "Filter error: Missing [ in filter expression" – click to create

Hi, I’m a newbie and am getting this error message: “Missing tiddler “Filter error: Missing [ in filter expression” – click to create” whenever I open the root URL. I can successfully create and edit tiddlers but they end up as “orphanes”.
I could not find anything with the search. How can I fix it?

The page in question is this: Methathesis — Commutation in search to increase the sum

Hi @Enki and welcome!

The problem come from a syntax error in the Default Tiddlers configuration of your wiki.
To fix it:

  • Click on the “Home” button of the wiki
  • In the “GettingStarted” tiddler, change the “Default Tiddlers” value to:
GettingStarted
[[Отче Наш]]

  • Save and reload

Have fun,

Fred

Thanks Fred. This worked.

However it now is showing the version of that page [[Отче Наш]] from yesterday. I was editing and saving it in the meantime and had received confirmations… Are those changes gone?

It looks like the only TiddlyHost published version of the [[Отче Наш]] page was last modified yesterday, and I remember it was already the case when I first answered you.
Just right now I tried to hit the “save” button and received a message stating that I am not allowed to do it, which is normal.
Maybe your changes were saved in a local file on your computer?
How did you publish the initial wiki? Did you first create it on your computer then publish it, or did you directly create it on tiddlyhost.com?

I have created it directly on the tiddlyhost.com and have installed the “file-backups” Extension for Firefox by pmario. However I can not find its twBackups directory anywere. The “backups enabled” checkbox is on.

Oh, I got it. The saving kinda worked but it saved to the tiddlyhost.com as it was supposed to. However the backup on tiddlyhost is not available for the free plan.
If I open and edit the wiki page locally the backup mechanism works as expected.

So unfortunately it seems my changes from tiddlyhost are gone anyway. May be there should be some warning for cases like that. I only caught up with the problem once I could not see my page from the main URL. Working on it and saving didn’t produce any error message or warning.

Looking at @pmario 's plugin page, the files should be in your downloads directory. I do hope you can find some data there.

Hope this helps

Fred

@Enki the file-backups plugin will only work if you start a wiki as a file:// based wiki. And it has to be in eg: myWikis in the browser downloads directory.

I personally did set my browser downloads directory to F: So the I can use any subdirectory in F: with my wiki files. — I do have to clean up the root dir in F: but file-backups just works for every directory this way.

So saving to TiddlyHost will not save a backup to the HD. TW does not have that possibility.
There is a pull request at GitHub. But it did not get merged since there have been some incompatibilities in the code base.
