I’m almost set up. My problem is, I’ve selected a light background - light grey, faint blue tint - for the tiddlers so I can no longer see the edit/close/options buttons on the top left, the date and time below the title of the Journal: I would also like to change the font colour of the list below the Open/Recent/Tools/More, which is kinda pink and not suitable for the design colours.
After that, I’m good to go.
This has been easy to build, in large part of this site and it’s members, so thank you many times.

First step: play with all the available alternate palette options, find out that’s closest to what you need… Then clone that palette and tweak your new variant until it’s really what you want.
Specifically, the tiddler-controls-foreground setting (and the hover variant) are what you’d want to increase contrast on, if the grey of standard palettes is too close to your preferred page/tiddler background.
