Is TiddlyHost down? 27/07/25 back up as of 8pm gmt

Is it down for others? I’m not even getting a status code it just keeps timing out.

Same, several hours later… 17:17 GMT

… except I’ve been able to get the account landing page to load a couple times… but then any further navigation (including download links) gets me a 500 internal server error.

Although it’s sort of up, it seems to still be struggling. Like many of the thumbnails are broken. And reloading gives me a “we’re having trouble finding that page” message.

I believe we were impacted by this Linode incident, particularly the “object storage” outage.

The “500 Server Errors” Tiddlyhost was reporting were related to trying to access the storage service. Those started at 10:49am US Eastern (i.e. about 6 and a half hours ago) and lasted about three hours.

Thanks very much all those who reported the problem, and apologies for the unscheduled downtime. I was away from my desk for most of the day, so there wasn’t much mitigation happening from my end.

Hopefully this is a rare occurrence, but I am thinking now about the possibility of failing-over to an alternative storage service if something like this happens.

Looking at the timeline more closely I see we had some additional outage time earlier this morning. For around 4 hours, starting at 6am US Eastern the server was completely down, (rather than up but producing server errors as described above). It seems likely this was also due to the Linode incident.

@simon I am unfortunately still seeing the 500 Error. Oddly it seems only to be affected my existing wiki. I can log in and create new wikis just fine.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Everything seems fine here. Perhaps clearing the browser cache?

Yeah I’ve dried clearing the cache etc. I’ve also tried it on different devices and browsers.

@Sunny As I said already it’s only my wiki that existed before the outage that I still can’t access. I can create new wikis and they work fine.

It seems its just me. I hope there has not been any data loss :sob:
