I renamed my tags, but now I want a sanity check

This is still in the experimental stage. I didn’t do it on my real wiki.

I used TW-Commander to rename a few tags. Now I want to see which tags of mine are being used elsewhere that the tag text field. This is in case I may have to go and rename them where the old tag name may have been used.

I don’t know how to do this, that is search for my own tags (non system tags) that may be used in the wiki other than in their respective tag text field. If they’re not used elsewhere, then I don’t need to see them. Otherwise I would need a list of the relevant tiddlers for further inspection.

I am not sure exactly what you are thinking first use <<tag tagname>> where tagname is the one you are interested in. This creates a tag pill and on click it should list any tiddlers with that tag. Althernativly you can use the search to find tagname used in other parts of a tiddler. Perhaps use a search filter with the * for all fields.

  • None of this would be a problem if you had the relink plugin installed.

I have Relink installed, but please explain how would this help me?

When you renamed your tag tiddler it should have found all references to that tag/title throughout the wiki and ensured it was renamed everywhere. There can be a need for some configuration in more advanced cases, but as a rule it helps in most standard cases.

  • I imagine you now want to search to see if the old tag exists anywhere?

Exactly that! If it’s used somewhere else. Transclusions or links?
