How to use [img[....]] with an image in Google drive and his URL

Hi everyone,

hope you’re well.

Do you know if it’s possible to use the display of an image (with the [img[…]] format), and the image is in Gdrive with an authorization to be read by his shared url?

Thanks for your help,

Not sure I understand completely. But here’s a site that explains how to modify the google drive “share image” link so that you can embed it directly:

So, for example, my tiddlywiki can display an image from my google drive if I frame it this way:

[img[stop|https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1oZ6FGV39qoybDxZpRpUVd3mW0PgLtujQ]]

(where that long string is the id string from google)

It works on Chrome, but may not work on other browsers.

Nobody needs to reply to this. I will give the best answer possible. I promise. I just need to eat a late lunch first.

I like the notes you wrote, since they encapsulates the things I unsuccessfully tried. Glad you were able to find an answer that works … for now.

Great! Many thanks… it works perfectly

twMat, since your wiki aspires to be about images in general – and since someone might come across this thread who wants images from dropbox – I’ll include a link to my note about using links for dropbox-hosted images. (The basic trick with dropbox is changing the end of the url, from dl=0 to raw=1)

I haven’t made it into a macro yet. Maybe you, or someone, would bundle it together with what you’ve already done for google images.
