As the title says.
how can I type back-ticks and braces on mobile Android
```
I found code block in the editor toolbar
```
I believe you can access these keys with the standard Gboard keyboard, but the Hacker’s keyboard or the very intriguing Unexpected Keyboard are open source alternatives that provide you with these handily.
With the Gboard keyboard, click on ?123
. Then click on =\<
. The curly braces and backtick are all available on that key layout.
A unique feature of Gboard is that you can have a keyboard that supports two (or more) languages at once. Which means you can have auto-suggestions for two different languages without having to change keyboard layout.
The Gboard keyboard also allows you to navigate your text with arrow keys, a feature I’ve only seen before on the Hacker’s keyboard. And it allows you to save your various copied snippets of text.
For characters with diacritical marks, long-press on a key and additional variations (umlaut, forward accent, back accent, etc.) popup for selection. This means you can often find a character you want even if you have loaded the corresponding language set.
I ran across this yesterday: Got Gboard? 12 hidden shortcuts for faster Android typing | Computerworld. It has a number of tricks I didn’t know.
I was also trying to figure out how to type some unusual keys in a TW on mobile. CTRL-SHIFT-/ toggles my wiki between read-only mode and edit mode. For the first time, I wanted to do that on mobile, and realized I had no CTRL key (or ALT, or ESC.) I ended up installing the Unexpected Keyboard, and, although I still use GBoard as the default, it’s quick and easy to pull up Unexpected and type this keystroke.
Thanks a lot. I’ll try it
In my phone an LG if find backticks by pressing the 1#+
key in the bottom on the left then >
to see another page and the back tick is there.
Using gboard I press ?123
then =\<
and it’s on the top line.
