Yes, The master of ceremonies mentioned us on the “fore court” and I asked “what had we being fore-caught for?” and everyone looked at me as if I was mad.
I wonder if I get the same response here?

At least the weather will be nice, currently blowing a gale and chucking it down here - winter so can’t really complain too much.

Normaly more than 1 million people come to the harbor foreshore for the fireworks. I am not keen on such large crowds. Because of Omicron only 35,000 went this year but the fireworks just as good. Talk about a lucky start to the year.

We stayed at home to keep an eye on things - For a couple of hours it felt as if we were in a war zone. Fireworks all around us. The sound when the fireworks hits the roof or the windows - I hate it. I used to watch from my windows - but not any more - too much at the same time disturbing the view - and then of course the constant fear of fire. Inspecting all around the house and garden - that nothing is on fire - and cleaning up the mess. We are among the lucky ones, no harm done. Just wish that was the case for everyone.
So you have lots of private fireworks you need to watch out for? We mostly have only large pubic fireworks now days. I few years ago I was in Berlin and is was a little scary, rockets firing down the street and under parked cars, Despite my growing up with firework’s as a kid. I kind of hold the small number of idiots responsible for for the loss of fireworks, the toll of burns and fires became too high. We were always creative but cautious. Like many things a few people often spoil things for the rest of us.
