GitHub saver on iOS reloads instead of saving

Hello all,

I’ve been happily using this GitHub pages saver (GitHub Saver — publishing with Tiddlywiki 5) for 5 months now and it’s worked across all my iPad and Mac. Suddenly, a few days ago, it started refusing to save on the iPad. Instead, when I edit a tiddler and hit the check mark, everything freezes for a few seconds and then the website reloads without having saved my edits. There’s also no record of a new commit in GitHub.

Things I’ve tried so far:

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi @noa, that isn’t a known or common issue. Are you able to share the URL of your wiki? That would allow us to investigate what might be going wrong.

I would use F12 (or whatever the equivalent is on Mac) to see the browser console and see if there is any error reported.

I would also go to the github site itself and verify that I could still make commits, possibly by manually loading my TW file.

Thank you both for the quick replies!

A few things:

  1. I should have been more clear that it’s just the ipad that anything happens on. Saving works fine on the Mac.
  2. Here’s the link: Noa's Idea Journal ꩟ — 868 ideas and counting! favorites | top of my mind | Philosophy | Challenges _

Ok! I finally figured it out. On the off chance that anyone else has this problem and finds this thread, it turned out that I was storing some of my images in the tiddlywiki instead of in separate files on github. That was slowing every save down significantly. Once I moved all my images off of the html file, it loads and saves easily.
