Forum prettylinks to TiddlyWiki - permalinks - should be improved

The following link https://tiddlywiki.com/#ListWidget will be rendered as: https://tiddlywiki.com/#ListWidget or

https://tiddlywiki.com/#ListWidget

BUT both 1 of them are is “kind of” broken. … https://tiddlywiki.com/#ListWidget IMO tells the user exactly where it links to. The “prettified” link in the forum only tells the page, that is linked.

Is there a possibility to prevent “pretty links” for tiddlywik.com and tiddlywik.com/dev … and so on.

OR

What do we need to implement into TW that it works. IMO it would be nice if the “onebox” would show a preview of the tiddler that is linked. That would be “cool”

– edited this post … because … see next post

Uuuups, That’s strange. In my preview the second link looked completely different.

So now I know that TW permalinks need to be in their own line to work as expected. …

Problem Solved !

But

It still would be nice to have the tiddler preview

You can share “bare” links by putting them in angle brackets:

<https://tiddlywiki.com>

https://tiddlywiki.com/

I’ll have a look around the settings for not replacing with Title for TW links.

TiddlyWiki needs to implement OpenGraph tags to get extended embeds / previews. Unfortunately they only work per “real” page, so for TW you can have this just once for your entire wiki. This is because # routing is invisible to SEO and other requests.

More reading (with OpenGraph preview!):

I think I’ve blocked TiddlyWiki.com domains from being expanded now.

The setting is under OneBox for admin settings if we want to add other domains.

Oh, I did read about the “twitter card thing” some years ago …

I think it would be easy to add this info to the static site generation template. We would only need to create a new button in tiddlywiki, that allows us to create the link for us. Similar to the “permalink” / “permaview” buttons.

Here is a link
## How to turn off camel case linking

It was created by activating the title as links in tiddlywiki and copying the title, then pasting here. I found I had to delete a space after the opening “[” but it works.

I just raise this here because I was proposing we find how to copy “permalinks” this way rather than the raw URL.

Next is boris’s raw link method to the same url
https://tiddlywiki.com/#How%20to%20turn%20off%20camel%20case%20linking
Which is the type of link you get from copy permalink.
https://tiddlywiki.com/#How%20to%20turn%20off%20camel%20case%20linking
and the same as the result without <linkurl>

Hi folks,
I did click the “rebuild HTML button” on my first post, which now shows all the linsk using the new settings that boris did here: Forum prettylinks to TiddlyWiki - permalinks - should be improved - #4 by boris

So my first post doesn’t make any sense anymore. So I’ll close it.
