[feature request] Google group link to original post

I love that talk.tiddlywiki.org mirror the google group, and I understand that it’s not possible to answer to these threads on discourse, but it would be great if there was at least a link pointing back the original post. ATM I have to make a google search for it…

Maybe a good way to go about this would be to still display the “reply” button, but instead of creating a new comment the user would be redirected to the google group post ? If that’s not possible, a link in the first post would be great too.

It’s just an email integration, so we don’t have many options. All the mailing list links get stripped out.

If someone wants to write a Discourse plugin to do this, that is what would be needed.

Moderators could add links to top posts, if that wouldn’t upset certain users too much.

I note there has only been 266 crossposts since we started Discourse.

I see, as always it’s more complicated than what I thought… I will look into it, if I find something of interest I’ll update this thread :slight_smile:
