Favorites - Flat mode

Hi! Installed the Favorites plugin by Kookma.
I’d like to display a list without the Folder dropdown, just the list of favorited items

And I see it mentioned Flat mode as one of the display options:

Flat mode

Favorite plugin can be used as a flat favorite list. In this mode no folder is used.

But don’t see an example or setting to use that.

“Flat mode” refers to the state where no custom folders have been created. A freshly installed Favorites plugin starts with a single default folder named “Recently Added,” which displays items in reverse chronological order (newest first). In this mode, you will always see a single, flat list until you manually create a second folder.

If this is confusing, I may need to revise the tutorial documentation.

Can just the folder be hidden?
I think it isn’t needed when there’s only one folder

All good, hid with gool ol’ CSS

I think it probably does need some changes. I saw the question, said to myself, “Mohammad’s docs are usually easy to understand and comprehensive”, and, although I’ve never used Favorites, went to see if I could answer the question based on the docs and demo site. I gave up after ten minutes. So I think something more explicit would be helpful.

Hi Scott,
Thank you for your time. I’ll go ahead and add a ticket, and I will revise this section to clearly state what is meant by “flat mode.”

@Null
I will also add a little CSS to hide the “Recently Added” section and achieve a true flat layout.

Done! See Favorites 4.9.1

Would the following be accurate? I think it’s clearer.

title: Modes
tags: ...

!! Flat mode
The Favorites plugin can be used as a flat favorites list. In this mode, no folders are used;
all favorites are placed in the default `Recently Added` folder. If you add an additional
folder, you have moved out of `Flat` mode.

Ultra clear, now I understand what it means

I will also add this correction to the doc.
