External Attachments plugin doesn't create field _cannonical_uri

When I drag and drop an image from the web into the wiki (running using TiddlyDesktop) a tiddler is created with a URL as it’s text instead of the _cannonical_uri field.

When I manually set the field, I need to also set the content type to image/png (otherwise I get a "Trying to load external content " text instead of the image and it is not clear that it is due to the content type)

Hi,

I noticed this same thing and ended up making a helper macro to make external link / _canonical_uri tiddlers.

It is located here: /Mike — my personal projects worth sharing

It simply makes an area where you can drag and drop urls from different webpages and tags them with the tiddler containing the macro to help with keeping track of them later. Just remember to set the type before dropping the URL.

Hopefully it helps and you can make some use of it.

/Mike

I don’t think it works with the web. It works when dragging and dropping from your local file system.

Thanks. Just tried it on your TW and dragging the cat icon at the top of this page (after setting the content type to an SVG) results in a tiddler where the field is https://talk.tiddlywiki.org instead of https://talk.tiddlywiki.org/uploads/default/original/1X/5d4e8afa05b64280281f851dfc982796b5f7fcd1.svg
