Drag tiddlers for import: message should be changed

Drag the $:/plugins/innoq/ace link to the top-ish part of your TiddlyWiki and drop, which should bring up an import tiddler.

top-ish part isn’t needed anymore. The import mechanism will also work with an empty story river since v5.2.0

When dragging tiddlers into TiddlyWiki for import, a green-ish bar shows at the top-ish part of the TiddlyWiki. The message says:

“Drop Here (or use the Escape key to cancel)”

If the import mechanism will work pretty much anywhere, then maybe the message ought to be changed?

To have that message showing in TiddlyWiki but then be told in the forums that the message is not relevant, that might be a little bit confusing for new users. No?

The green message isn’t referring to the old issue about having to be careful dragging into an empty story river. The green message is telling you which dropzone will receive the drop – if you drag over the listing in the “Open” tab you’ll see the message disappear because a different dropzone is activated.

I think the message is still relevant but perhaps it could be better worded?

Yeah, “Drop here”, I figure that means drop where the green bar is. So I dutifully drag to where the word “here” happens to be.

Maybe “Drop now, as part of drag and drop and where your mouse cursor is currently positioned, for import”, or something less verbose but still informative.

@jeremyruston this ability to drop title on open tab is a useful feature except whist dragging the title we can not open the tab by hovering over the tab. Basically you need to open the tab first.

I feel it would be a nice improvement on the tab macro if this was activated for all tabs. It would then be possible to define a set of tabs, or even tabs within tabs you could drag and drop a tiddler title, url or file on. In effect allowing the publishing of multiple drop zones within a tabset for different treatments of the drop.
