Cannot save to TiddlyHost

This problem started about 12 hours ago. (I was hoping it would be fixed overnight or that a computer reboot would fix it.)

My post last night was moved to some thread about problems saving from Windows to TiddlyHost.

I do NOT have a Windows computer.

My computer is a Chromebook (Chrome web browser).

You mentioned Ctrl-Reload, but I think Shift-Reload, i.e. hold down shift and click reload is what you want to try.

Tiddlyhost error on one computer only: file changed on server - #6 by simon has some details about this error and how to troubleshoot.

Oop, typo. Yes, CTRL-SHIFT reload. That did nothing.

Reboot also did nothing.

CTRL-SHIFT reload tried on the TW and TiddlyHost.

Also tried: logging out of TiddlyHost, accessing TiddlyHost via incognito Chrome session, logging into TiddlyHost in that session, and edit the TW instance. That still results in the same error message upon save.

Just tried editing and saving another TW instance I have on TiddlyHost, and it saved fine.

Seems to be just Le Petit Aurèle that is having a problem: https://lepetitaurel.tiddlyhost.com/

Later today (say in 6 or 7 hours), I will try replacing that TW instance with a local backup. In the meantime, leaving that TW as is, will give a wee window of opportunity for tech-savvy anybody to see what is wrong with it. (I’m suspecting the web server has some kind of read-write lock on it?)

I’ve added a way to disable that check, which should get you unstuck:

  • Open a new browser tab and go to https://tiddlyhost.com/sites
  • Click the “Settings” button to go to the settings page for your site, in your case lepetitaurel
  • Click “Show advanced settings”
  • Check the check box next to ‘Ignore “file changed on server” check when saving’
  • Click the “Update” button
  • Now go back to https://lepetitaurel.tiddlyhost.com/ and click save to save

That did the trick.

Changed the setting, opened LePetitAurele, made a change, and saved.

After saving it A-1, I closed LePetitAurele, undid that setting, opened the TW instance again, and it is now saving again normally.

Good stuff. Thanks !
