Has anyone played around with auto linking of tiddlers? Maybe when highlighting a proper name in wiki text, having a list of candidate tiddlers to link to appearing?

I believe one of the autocomplete tools may do this, However I often use the ctrl-L in the editor (the link button) in which you can search for a title. If you take that “propername” and use it to search, the link search honors custom search tabs
The link button is actually very powerful
But I think I found a way to improve it even more.
Just a quick note. If you select text and then use ctrl-L it opens the search dialogue and you can type in search text. Once you hit enter the selected text is used as a pretty link, and the found tiddler as its destination. [[selected text|found title or text string]].
The improvment I propose is simple, if selected text exists use it to prefill the search string, so if one was to select “concepts” on ctrl-L you will imediatly see a tiddler such as “Concepts in this wiki”. If instead you start typing it will use that to search with (as usual).
I often use ctrl-L to insert URLs, type a pretty name and select it, Ctrl-L, Ctrl-V to paste the url, then enter. eg bnh
I will add this to WYSIWYG editor. I think there can be a sub-menu on floating menu to show possible related tiddlers, especially when AI plugin could provides vector similarity result.
WYSIWYG editor and AI plugin are said to release in 5.4.x
Before that, traditional way is to use camel case free link.
