I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very merry XMAS and hope that 2026 will be safe, merry and prosperous to you all. I would also like to thank each of you who have contributed to my increasing knowledge of TW.
Now to business.
I have been struggling for some time now in uploading HTML formatted data into TW using the JSON import mechanism. I was able to import simple html but a HTML table just didn’t work.
I was getting steadily better and better, almost getting it to be valid JSON. However, the last leg stumped me for some time.
The html came from a Word file converted to HTML via the LibreOffice Save As feature.
I finally asked CHATGPT what was wrong with the JSON and it replied as follows:
Looking at the reply, solved my issue completely and now I can upload as much HTML content into a tiddler as I need. In fact, I am going to write a program to read the html file and do all the conversions required so I can bulk load as many tiddlers as I want.
The result is
an identical looking copy of the Word document entry.
So next time you’re stuck with JSON formatting, give this route a try, it may help you as well saving days of effort.
