An Edition more Basic than Basic

There is a discussion on GitHub https://github.com/jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/discussion/7772 and I like the terminology introduced by @anicolao for TiddlyWiki

  • Personal web notebook (This is actually can be found in ReadMe tiddler but it’s a forgotten term and needs to be in HelloThere)
  • Web operating system

The idea is to have the smallest possible core plugin to be used as an OS for creating different kind of web apps like web game, blog, message board, shopping web site, …

Remember feather wiki available on tiddlyhost.

Rather than publish an edition what about a wiki designed to generate minimal editions say inside an innerwiki you can test and save out if desired.

In call cases you will need to develop a mechanisium to identify what you can remove or leave out and how to do it.

Whilst I think it may be achievable I do question its value since you possibly cant save much more than a megabyte.

  • editions with external javascript hosted on a CDN my be close enough without removing and features.
  • a way of saving data tiddlers in a compressed format within the wikis may be more productive.

Some inspiration may be found in the way some developers build websites front ends that only use a wordpress back end, however its a technically complex problem.
