Folks,
I have re-occuring and persistent issues with windows and tab management across all browsers. Since FireFox is my prefered browser and seems to offer more features and customisability,
- along with continuing to support Timimi as installed
- making used of a TiddlyWiki in a sideview on modern wide desktop screens.
Research suggests I can give a wiki a lot more influence over naming, opening, grouping, using collections and pinning tabs using “Firefox WebExtensions”. Since vibe coding and other options provide more access to such prosaic knowledge I thought I would investigate the use of Browser Extensions and WebExtensions.
As you may know Timimi makes use of WebExtensions and also once toyed with allowing local device commands to be triggered.
- Of course we would implement this in a way that the interactive user must configure and grant permissions to specific wikis/url or files.
So I raise this here in the developers forums for those with an interest in or actual skills and experience so we can collaborate in the platforms and technologies that may enable advanced uses of TiddlyWiki through web extensions.
As usual I know my Imagination is familiar with the possibilities and motivations to take such a path, and ultimately the features, but in the past participants have not being able to see why this may be visionary and turn the discussion into a pros and cons. May I suggest you stand back for now and see what transpires rather than ask me to Justify this right away.
- I am looking for people who have the skills and or vision of what such mechanisms offer.
They may include;
- Sophisticated multi-window/tab management
- Deep window/Tab/Group/Container and pinning tools for browser specific wikis.
- Local command executions or launching
- supporting dev tools
- Local file folder management
- Creating desktop based wikis annotating files/folders/images etc…
- new an novel saving mechanisms and publishing tools
- Automation
