I’m hoping mostly for a sanity check here… I’ve noticed some considerable slowdown in my (admittedly large and complicated) 5.3.0 wiki as compared to its most recent 5.2.7 iteration, e.g.
- when switching between Advanced Search tabs
- when switching between custom sidebar tabs (I’m using a slightly modified version of @Brian_Radspinner’s Be Rad edition)
- when adding a new field - the field name dropdown seems to be a particular pain point
- when using Advanced Search - this causes temporary browser hangups on a semi-regular basis, especially when searching shadows or system tiddlers.
My layman’s assumption is that it’s filter evaluation causing the lag, but I don’t know what—if anything—has changed on that front. Mostly I’m wondering whether anyone else has noticed the same, or if this is (more likely?) a problem of my own making.
EDIT: Brian provided an optimization for this specific edition, but I’m leaving the thread open for now. I’d still like your thoughts and findings, if any!
