Is there any way to read the titles from `$:/HistoryList` without resorting to arcane regexp in a filter?

This short version is exciting however I am finding the following when trying to make a useable list;

• It shows previously draft tiddlers, lots
• It shows now deleted tiddlers
• It contains duplicates
