Those aren’t really books that you read. They’re more like objects d’art that happen to have bindings. In the same category as clay pottery, which some people still make and display, but isn’t a regular part of most people’s lives.
I was thinking more of reading books in terms of content – like the great works: “War and Peace.”, “The Hound of the Baskervilles”, “The Bridges of Madison County”, etc.
It’s hard to imagine that a tax militia would be popular. And all that regalia.
